In February, we blogged about the promising fifteen-year-old baseball star, Bryce Harper of Las Vegas, who hit a record-breaking 502 ft homerun which "would have cleared the back wall of Yankee Stadium with probably about 15 to 20 feet to spare," said Greg Rybarczyk who maintains Hit Tracker Online.
Four months ago, Harper was considered the number one pick for the 2011 amateur MBL draft.
Now he is on the cover of Sports Illustrated being called "Baseball's Chosen One" and "the most exciting prodigy since LeBron."
Among his myriad batting accomplishments, Harper has hit "the longest home run in the history of Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays," pitches a 96 mph fastball and has a 3.5 GPA (Sports Illustrated). It seems like this MLB prospect is a very well-rounded kid with extraordinary talent.
This is something which TAKKLE emphasizes as a key point in getting recruited. College coaches and recruiters look for well-rounded kids to compliment their existing players. They want someone who can excell on and off the field. Players who are not doing well academically risk losing their athletic eligibility for the NCAA.
Furthermore, coaches want an athlete who is easy to coach, willing to learn and has the right attitude. Harper has all that. And, at sixteen, he might be headed toward college sooner rather than later.
Harper and his family are considering having him earn his GED credential this summer in order to enroll in a junior college in the fall of 2009. Doing so would allow Harper to experience more athletic competition than he is currently exposed to in high school, and allow him to hone his skills with more experienced players and coaches. Most importantly, it would allow him to be eligible for the draft in June.
This sixteen-year-old power hitter is one to look out for. He is expected to exceed all expectations and become the biggest name in MLB history.

My partner and I really enjoyed reading this blog post, I was just itching to know do you trade featured posts? I am always trying to find someone to make trades with and merely thought I would ask.
