Melissa Wu brings home a Silver for Australia

We're very proud to announce that a Takkle athlete, Melissa Wu has brought home her first medal in her very first appearance in the Olympics at the age of 16. Wu, competed in the 10m synchronized diving competition with partner Briony Cole. With this accomplishment Melissa became the youngest diver in Australian history to win a medal in the Olympic games. With a total of 5 dives the duo brought in a total of 335.16 points, second to China which scored a 363.54.

Melissa is a potential medal winner in the individual event which will be held on the 21st, however this will not be without strong competition. "I know that the individual competition will be more tough," said Wu. "There will be very big pressure and big crowd, but I'll go there and don't get too nervous. I'll try to keep calm, and do each dive well."

We wish Melissa all the best and will continue to root her on!
